06/22/17 Daily Blog

After getting my finger chewed from the dogfight last night. Things are a little slow today.

  1. Never interrupt a dog fight. (We love our pets. How can this be true? I would rather take a beating then have my animals harmed.)
  2. Never have 2 female dogs in the same house.
Okay, just set a sale in our eBay store. Let's see if this turns our watchers to buyers. The sale is good until the end of June.
Working on an easier way to do variations for sports cards in eBay listings. Time is $ and the variation part of a listing is a long process if you are selling say 716 different trading cards in (1)  listing.
I have to research having more than (1) eBay account.
We have to enter into the local game because we have some lamps that are not our style, left over from an estate.

My thoughts on our recent sales:
  1. As always, if you don't list it you can't sell it.
  2. Items don't always sell for what we want to get out of them. Amazon and books. Have to work on this one.
  3. All years of trading cards sell, even the mass produced years. Shown by my recent sales.
  4. Having the item gone might include a sale at a loss. Lots of this lately.
  5. Returns are eating up my profits.
Here's the to-do list for today:
  1. Check for orders. Get orders shipped out.
  2. Check for yard/garage/estate sales
  3. Get shipment ready to send to FBA
  4. Add (100) trading cards via spreadsheet to Amazon
  5. Add items to Inventory Lab #FeedTheBeast
  6. Add replens to Inventory Lab #FeedTheBeast
  7. Take Pictures/Scans
  8. List, List, List on eBay
  9. Add listings to Etsy
  10. Add cards to Kronozio - strictly a trading card site
  11. Watch YouTube videos

Shoe Cleaners, polishes, and sprays:

All-Purpose Cleaner:

This is an excellent cleaner for built up grime, grease, yellowing from cigarette smoke and the like. We used this in the house we moved into. The previous owner smoked in the house. The walls were yellow and the custom cabinets were caked with grease and cigarette smoke. The little garage was used as an extra pantry. The canned goods exploded in the heat and then stuck to the shelves in 1/4" to 1/2" inch think dried up molasses looking spills. We spread it on and we were able to take a putty knife to it about 10 minutes later. This is just an awesome cleaner.

When I use other items I will gladly add them to my recommendations.

Researching dropshipping and product syncing to our Shopify Store (website). Have to diversify in todays times. Have to have income coming in from all sorts of places to make a living.

Always on the search for a "product" that will be like Zistle, was to many card collectors. A product that has a want list feature, a database where I can add my PC (personal collection of trading cards), and be user friendly.

06/17/17 Daily Blog

I think we did well today on our little haul. We got out of the house a little later than I wanted, but it was perfect timing for what we got. Some of this stuff is more than awesome. I picked up 8 sports jerseys and 2 team snapback hats. Of course, everything needs to be washed, but so be it. Some of the jerseys have some wear but still will get good $ out of them. Picked up some Christmas items, some vintage dolls, some DVDs, some book on tapes or CDs, some new and sealed board games, and lots more. What are we going to get for this stuff?

06/16/17 Daily Blog

Hoping sales are better today than they were yesterday. 😦 It is June and sales are known to be slow.
Looked over some yard sales and opted to go out tomorrow instead of today. We have a lot of processing to do. Trying to get rid of the dead pile.
Not sure what all we will be sending to FBA out of the dead pile. Amazon has proven to not be careful with sellers' items. I know we have some glassware, some ceramic/porcelain items and lots of other stuff. Even some sealed McDonald's Toys. Better get to it. Have been wanting to move the office into the smaller room so we can use the majority of the 2 car garage for a working space. Just have to move everything out of the office.
Definitely warm here in the 707 today.
I checked out Mercari earlier. It is somewhat like Letgo, Mile 5. and Offer Up.

06/15/17 Daily Blog

Working a little every day to get the workshop ready to go. I have cut all the boards that I need to finish my table tops. I need to rip the old fish pond down so that I have a support 2 x 4 for support for my boards. Screw the boards down and I have enough room for most of my tools. I thought, take the additional bench out and move it to the other side of the workshop...what a great idea, that can house my miniature tools. I have to enclose it first. My workshop has a solid wall and 3 open sides. My workshop is in a lean-to on the side of the 2 car garage.
All of my trading cards are finally unloaded and in our office.
Today, I am starting a new chapter in my life. For me and my family. The last thing I want is to not be there for my family.
Got one shipment off to FBA. So while out we did some thrifting. #FeedTheBeast
We spent close to $13. A CD, a Baseball hat, and 2 factory sealed puzzles. Our ROI is around $185. Definitely, can't beat that.

06/14/17 Daily Blog

Auctions have been taken off the table for now. With my latest testings, they may be permanently off the list. Not to mention the sensitivity to the sun. We were going to be going to our first storage unit auction this Saturday, but with the temperatures anywhere between 100-110,  we decided against it. What a bummer, I was really looking forward to the experience.
